
Overview
I was tasked with creating the graphics for an app that scanned out deals on the Steam Marketplace called SteamSnipe.
The product was already finished when I began working, and I had to create various assets within a very tight deadline of only one day.



Exporting game
assets to Blender
In order for me to start working with the 3D models from the game the app primarily targets, in this case Team Fortress 2, I had to find a way to extract these models from the game and into Blender where I work.
This wasn't something I figured out by myself, but I did manage to find guides and other information to make it happen, which was easy once I got the hang of it.
3D Texturing &
Lighting Work
Creating compelling design is one thing, but also keeping the boundaries of direct-to-garment (DTG) printing in mind while forging your ideas is another.
As this was my first time ever working with DTG prints, I had some issues early on in the first versions, but I didn't stop researching the process and therefore the prints came out looking like they were meant to.


Colors & Logo
While the characters are interesting in themselves from an aesthethic standpoint, I wanted to give them some more life and personality, so before I even started working on them I used AI to help me forge some light story and worldbuilding for these characters.
I also managed to include their short biography in the various designs, tying them together.
Copywriting
I also wrote up some quick information about the app, what it does and why it's a great service to go along with the visuals.
All in all, very happy with the outcome of this one day project, and the project did well too! (Maybe because of the copywriting? Who knows!)

RESULTS
Working on the SteamSnipe branding with only one day to spend, I'm glad with what came out of it for sure, and so was the client and the people that ended up using the app. (And the launch went way better than expected! We got 30+ clients in the first 24 hours, that pay a monthly subscription)
The customers that ended up using this app were people that had deep ties to the game itself, Team Fortress 2, and they appreciated the different look that I gave the characters, as it gave them a new perspective on the beloved characters they've known for almost two decades at this point.
All in all, super fun project and I got to learn a lot!

Once I had managed to put these characters into Blender, I changed the default texture to something more remiscent of shining gold to connect the idea of making deals and the game, Team Fortress 2.
I also put the SteamSnipe logo on these models to further make them unique to the brand.

Colors & Logo
As this was a project that had a very tight deadline, I decided on the bright colors quite quickly, to contrast the Discords dark palette (the app was running through Discord) and made the logo even quicker.
It's nothing fancy or groundbreaking by any means, just something simple, but it came out just fine and the client was happy considering the time spent.
I pride myself on being efficient, hard-working and quick, it's definitely one of my strong sides.
